"Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise..." ~ Psalm 100:4
"Our pursuit of the Lord begins with recognizing who He is and what He has done in our lives. All too often we forget the great works that God has done in our lives. From salvation to the continuing work of sanctification, the Lord is good and He is worthy of our praise.
All throughout the Old Testament, the Lord continually reminded the Israelites of the captivity they had been brought out of. He urged them to recollect and not forget what He had done for them, otherwise they would lose faith in continuing onward.
Psalm 103:2 says, "Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits." Yet, how often do we forget His benefits? How often do we rush around our busy lives and never pause to remember all the good He has done? Then we wonder why we don't have the faith to press on into circumstances. Maybe, it's because we've neglected to give Him thanks.
Not only does giving thanksgiving bolster our faith, but it also connects us with God and ushers us into His presence in a dynamic way. As Psalm 100:4 says, it enters us through His gates and into His courts. What better place to be than that? Darkness, evil and fear cannot reside in His presence. Instead, there is fullness of joy!
The time has come. Live for one thing: to give Him praise in everything you do!
Take some time today to remember everything the Lord has done for you and give Him thanks! Give Him the praise He deserves in every moment."
