I don't know how to start.. nor do I know what the topic or point of this is.. I just have some stuff I wanna share that I feel I need to share. So, here goes nothing!
I felt the need to state: We fight battles everyday. What ever difficulties we face, we can rest assured because God goes with us. He understands that some areas in our lives are like a battlefield. "It's God who arms me with strength.. He enables me to stand on the heights. He trains my hands for battle." (Psalm 18:32-36) And once you're following Christ Jesus, he is with you always. Even when you feel alone, he's there (Psalm 48:14)! God never forgets about you! Even through your heartache and pain. God keeps you safe (Psalm 109:21-31).
Over the course of 3 days (WOOT! Mission Cleveland 2010!) I have spent my time glorifying God by doing simple acts of love! I've learned that once you learn to delight in yourself IN Christ - that means getting to know God, enjoying his presence, and spending time with him - once you get your joy tied to him, your desires will (or might) change. Instead of a long list of "stuff", you'll desire real, true satisfaction. God offers you a fulfilling life that is beyond anything you can imagine (Psalm 37:3-4)!!!
I came to realize that sometimes, we need to just shut up and LISTEN to God when we pray. It's not always about chatting with God. Sometimes, it's about God talking to you (Psalm 85:8). I know that my soul thirsts for God. My body longs for Him (Psalm 63).
I've found joy in God and I need to remind myself that, however I get my inner flame (worship), I should do it for God and do it ALL the time (psalm 90:14; 92:1-4)!
Lastly, the greatest comfort that I have come across is that, regardless if I'm a "drifter" or a "dreamer", God has a purpose for my life; and He WILL fulfill it (Psalm 138:8)!
I feel this is what God has spoken to me.. for me. And I feel that God has told me to try something new too: the Bridegroom Fast! I really think that it is gonna be great! I'm totally excited about it and I'm positive I need to do this. For some reason, I love fasting. Fasting shows that during your weakness, you really do need God; and you're taking control of you body. "Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God." (Matthew 4:4) God's word FEEDS our spirits! It's got the perfect ingredients for a relationship with God! "..Every word.. from the mouth of God.." That's God SPEAKING to us!!
Amazing, is it not?! Well.. that's about all I have come up with.. The end, I guess. . . for now.
Amen?!
