"In the morning, LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.” - Psalm 5:3
"Prior to going to Haiti, the Lord had been tugging at my heart to give Him the first part of my day and to seek His face before going about the rest of my day. But I continually struggled majorly in my attempts to do so. Typically, my quiet time consists of a chapter or two before bed and some mumbled prayers as I fall asleep.
When I went on my mission trip, quiet time was scheduled at the beginning of everyday. I began to seek Him in a way I rarely had back at home and the Lord showed up in amazing ways each day, both in my quiet time and out in ministry. I can’t stress enough the importance of giving Him the time He deserves. My heart is in a place hungry for Him more in the morning than any other time. The Lord told Jeremiah, “You will find me when you seek me with your whole heart (Jeremiah 29:13).” I have drawn so close to the Lord in Haiti. I have found Him in ways I never would have if I hadn’t sought Him whole-heartedly.
John Bunyan once said, “He who runs from God in the morning will scarcely find Him the rest of the day.” Connecting with God in the morning doesn't have to be long and drawn out. All you have to do is quiet yourself before Him and set Him as the Lord of your life for that day. If you're a morning person, than perhaps you will want to give Him more of your prime time in the morning. As a night person, than you could spend a little more time with God in the evening. But, it is important to connect with God before you launch into your day. So make time for Him tomorrow morning!

How do you start your day off? Do you pause in the morning and give God your day? "
