Passion Pursuit

Yes, I totally copied/pasted this from the Honor Academy's Passion Pursuit Challenge. But can you blame me?

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind." - Matthew 22:37

You may have heard this verse before, but the question you must ask yourself today is: "would people agree that my life looks like this?" How do we even get there? How do we "get" passion for Jesus in our hearts? The answer is actually really simple.
We focus on the love that He has for us.
When we just quiet our souls and contemplate, "this God...this Jesus...the One who created the universe, the wind, music, sunsets and the vast ocean expanse", our hearts begin to slowly soak up a love for Him. God is not just some figure for our devotionals. He is the all consuming essence of love. The essence of our existence.
Study the Gospel of Jesus Christ and observe how deeply and thoroughly He loves us. Even while we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8)! Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends (John 15:13). And that is exactly what Jesus did for us.
What an amazing love! There is NO greater love than what Jesus displayed for us! How awesome is that? He is worthy of praise!
Allow that reality to soak in your heart today. Pause for a few minutes and set your gaze on His great love.
