A little something I have gained this week:
You're going to go through hell. Probably, anyways. Since when is following Jesus easy? There will be persecution from people and from fellow believers. There is going to be hurt. You will probably get walked on or used, taken advantage of. Something will happen. Maybe you have already gone through some really horrible things. I don't know. But I do know that God loves us. He has the ability to save and protect us and calm our fears. He's almighty. He is the restorer, the sustainer of all life! So, don't let past experiences be excuses -or perhaps bad experiences as of recently- to how you behave. Love everyone. Whoever claims to be in the light but hates his brother is in the darkness!! Instead of demanding better treatment or... I don't know what you would do... but instead of that, praise god! Be like Job- be humble. Show people who God is by the way you act.
A dear friend of mine who doesn't know the lord said something that really breaks my heart. "By the way you guys act, I wouldn't be able to tell that you're some 'loving' Christians." (That may be be slightly different than what he said, but hopefully you get the point.) Look, salt water and fresh water can't come from the same tap, can they? No. Get your hearts right and love everyone, regardless of your doubts of them. Give people the benefit of the doubt. Trust God. Yeah, you might get hurt again, but there's nothing God can't fix, nor is he ever going to give you more than you can handle. That's all I have to rant about. Until next time, reader. Farewell.
