Adonia

Tink. Clang. Bleep.
My eyes creaked open. I sat up stiffly. The others were roaming around carelessly... lifelessly.
Why don't they see the world as I do? No one can view the world through the same eyes as mine... Yet, all our eyes are the same.
No one can see the beauty in the simple things of life. Everyone roams around apathetically. I, on the other hand, can stare at the animated creatures in this world with this foreign feeling. I do not know what to call it; I know it is good though.
It seems to me that no other experiences what I experience. It seems as if there is more to me than this hollow shell. It seems to me as if.. I am unique in an unknown way. I have yet to discover the unknown.
"Adonia. . .Adonia. . . Attention Adonia."
My mind drifted away from the monotonous tone of the Leader. I don't want to listen. I want to be away; I want to drift far, far away. I want to be so deep in my own thoughts that one would have to try not to sink if they went after me.
"Adonia, report to the Disengage Facility," droned the Leader.
Look at that lovely creature! Oh how it floats in the air! It's so effortlessly gliding by, without the slightest care in the world.
The in-sync steps of a march followed closely behind her thoughts. They marched with perfect melodic steps. Their feet were in perfect harmony. Soon enough, they were after her. They encompassed her; they swallowed her whole.
What is this feeling of.. It’s not a good feeling. It is so very bad.
They worked tediously at her metal frame, disengaging it until she was nothing more. Until they came upon a foreign object, moving inside of her hollow shell. It beat to a rhythm unknown to them. This foreign object is unacceptable.
Pain
They examined it a little longer.
Pain is fading. Where am I headed? I'm fading quickly!
Longer still, they looked at this substance. Nothing came about it. Empty were the heads of the cyborgs, without a thought ever being formed.
Darkness
The heart ceased to go on.
